Stampin Gals Gone Wild Week-end Card Challenge 01.08.2016

Hello Card Making friends!

I created this card to submit into the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Facebook group.  The Facebook page and this group belongs to a Stampin Up Demonstrator from Oklahoma, Connie Stewart.  I think the group name is hilarious since it looks like many of the participants are seniors, as in senior citizens.  Anyway, this is strictly for fun. Connie will post a challenge on Friday and then the task is to create a project using SU products to design one's own version of the week-end challenge card.  This week I had some extra time on my hands and created 2 cards.  This first card took some time and didn't go as quickly as I imagined it would but that is because I wanted the punched out banner to match the stamped petite petal flower.  The card stock is called Watermelon Wonder.  I stamped the little Petite Petals stamp with Watermelon Wonder ink as well.  The strips of designer series paper (DSP) are from the SU Cherry on Top DSP Pack.

The second card I created was so easy and quick to put together.  As I was working on the first card, I thought about using the SU Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Plus, I needed to make a masculine card for my nephew's birthday.  Luckily, I had previously cut many card bases and card layers to have on hand.  I went to my card base and layers stash and then all I needed to do was stamp the images.  Seriously, it was that easy and in less than 2 minutes I had my nephew's card AND a second submission into the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild (SGGW) group.

This card had the most comments (24) and the most likes (170) than any card I've ever posted!!!  And I have posted cards that  took a long time to design and then execute.  This was a no brainer, slap it together and BAM - instant card.  I'm glad many fellow card makers liked it, but I guess it just proves that you don't have to over-think somethings.  Here is card 2 for the Jan 08, 2016 Week-end Challenge:
